Waringstown GB is a young company - we are just 4 years old. We have a joint chaplaincy between Holy Trinity Church of Ireland Waringstown, and Waringstown Presbyterian. We meet on Monday nights in Waringstown Presbyterian Church Halls. Tiny Tots, Explorers and Juniors meet from 6.15pm - 7.30pm and the Seniors and Brigaders meet from 7.30pm - 9.00pm. We love to worship God and are learning how to ‘Seek, Serve and Follow Christ’. We do that by singing songs and following the GBNI Scripture Programme each night. We encourage the girls to develop new skills and expand their knowledge and offer age appropriate opportunities to get involved in things like: arts and crafts and baking. We also enjoy supporting charities financially, prayerfully and practically.
We are always looking for opportunities to serve our community and our Tiny Tots and Explorers have once again made decorations for harvest that were displayed in Holy Trinity Church of Ireland and WPC, and they will also be making decorations for the Community Christmas Tree in Waringstown.
Our kind-hearted Juniors have once again complied lovely Christmas hampers to be delivered to some elderly members in our Community.
Our Seniors and Brigaders along with our officers and leaders will be hosting a Community Carol Singing event on 22nd December - singing carols with a brass band as we walk to various areas in our village. The girls and officers and leaders will provide supper for all involved afterwards.
We understand the importance of physical activity and enjoy playing a wide range of games with our girls. Skipping and PE are also popular in all sections, and this year our Seniors and Brigaders enjoyed learning how to play Netball.
Our Captain is Gwyneth Buchanan, and she is ably assisted but our team of 27 officers and leaders. We are passionate about helping our girls grow in their faith as they 'Seek, Serve and Follow Christ.' We also encourage and support them as they grow and develop their skills and abilities via our badge work programme. All girls in our community are very welcome to come along and join the company.
