Covering topics such as:

  • Youth Culture.  How can we best engage with and connect with the young people in our GB companies.  What shapes and influences our girls?  What can we do as Christian leaders to equip our girls to help them to grow in faith and walk with Jesus when how they engage with church and the Bible may be different to what we are used to ourselves.
  • Inclusive games and how to encourage all girls to take part in physical activity in badgework.
  • Supporting young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

Workshop Leaders
  • Phil is the Training & Resources Manager for Scripture Union Northern Ireland. Working with churches, Scripture Union aims to make God’s Good News known to children, young people and families.  Come along to hear Phil share about youth culture and to think about how you could potentially connect better and influence the girls that you serve.
  • Zara works for an organisation called Made for More. Made for More exist to speak Ephesians 2:10 over every young person in Northern Ireland that they would know they are God’s masterpiece created on purpose for purpose.   Zara will be leading the workshop looking at how we as GB leaders can support our girls’ mental health and challenges they may face.
  • Susan is Head of Department of PE in a local Junior High School and GB Officer.  Paul is a Youth Development Officer for Craigavon Aztecs Volleyball club. Aztecs promotes Christian values in a competitive environment and through their schools programme runs coaching sessions for 1000 kids a week.  Susan and Paul hope to share with you ideas on what you can do with your girls for the physical section of their badge, and also tips on how to encourage the girls who do not consider themselves sporty to take part.
