Do you feel equipped in delivering the programme to your girls? Are you in need of new ideas? Are you interested in sharing ideas and suggestions with other GB leaders as well as making contact with other organisations? Do you need inspired and refreshed? Then come along and join us!

Booking for the next Programme Resource and Training Day is now open in the Leaders’ Section of the GBNI website. 

Saturday 18th June 10am-3.30pm in Hillsborough Presbyterian
£10 per person (lunch is included).

Marketplace
An ideal opportunity for you to make contact and chat to a wide range of different organisations who may have resources or programmes to use in your company, or who are willing to come out and lead a session on a particular topic.

Round table discussions and idea sharing
A brilliant chance to meet other GB leaders, share ideas, tips and learn from each other.

Workshops (delegates can book to attend two out of three workshops – places per workshop are limited)

Covering topics such as:

  • Youth Culture.  How can we best engage with and connect with the young people in our GB companies.  What shapes and influences our girls?  What can we do as Christian leaders to equip our girls to help them to grow in faith and walk with Jesus when how they engage with church and the Bible may be different to what we are used to ourselves.
  • Inclusive games and how to encourage all girls to take part in physical activity in badgework.
  • Supporting young people’s mental health and wellbeing.


Workshop Leaders
 
  • Phil is the Training & Resources Manager for Scripture Union Northern Ireland. Working with churches, Scripture Union aims to make God’s Good News known to children, young people and families.  Come along to hear Phil share about youth culture and to think about how you could potentially connect better and influence the girls that you serve.
 
  • Zara works for an organisation called Made for More. Made for More exist to speak Ephesians 2:10 over every young person in Northern Ireland that they would know they are God’s masterpiece created on purpose for purpose.   Zara will be leading the workshop looking at how we as GB leaders can support our girls’ mental health and challenges they may face.
 
  • Susan is Head of Department of PE in a local Junior High School and GB Officer.  Paul is a Youth Development Officer for Craigavon Aztecs Volleyball club. Aztecs promotes Christian values in a competitive environment and through their schools programme runs coaching sessions for 1000 kids a week.  Susan and Paul hope to share with you ideas on what you can do with your girls for the physical section of their badge, and also tips on how to encourage the girls who do not consider themselves sporty to take part.
