EA Proposed Funding Scheme Consultation

8th November 2018

PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON THE EDUCATION AUTHORITY PROPOSED FUNDING SCHEME FOR REGIONAL AND LOCAL VOLUNTARY YOUTH ORGANISATIONS HAS BEEN LAUNCHED
CONSULTATION; 6 November 2018 until 5 February 2019

The Education Authority (EA) is seeking the views of Youth Service stakeholders including children and young people, and other interested parties on a proposed funding scheme for Regional and Local Voluntary Youth Organisations.

Consultation on these proposals will take place between the 6th November 2018 at 4pm and 5th   February 2019 at 4pm.

The consultation has been publicly advertised and the relevant documentation and information is available on the EA website at www.eani.org.uk/consultations. This includes the Consultation Information Booklet, a short questionnaire, an Easy Read version of the information, a young person’s video and a list of public consultation workshops.

A large number of our GB companies are registered with the EA and maybe receiving funding from EA to support the work they do at their local level.  Therefore, it is important that every GB company feeds into this consultation and has an understanding of how any changes may implicate their funding needs in the future.

Please take the time to read over the Consultation Information Booklet and then take a few minutes to complete the short questionnaire.  Please note that Sections 5 and 6 of the information booklet are primarily relevant to the consultation questionnaire; however, the full information booklet will provide you with details which would assist your understanding of and participation in the consultation process.

The EA will be monitoring the level of responses from each youth organisation, therefore, when completing the questionnaire it is important that you answer the first three questions as follows:

  1. In what capacity are you responding?
On behalf of a Regional Voluntary Youth Organisation
  2. If applicable, is your organisation in receipt of EA funding?
    Yes
  3. If applicable, please state the name of the organisation you are representing.                          Girls’ Brigade NI

The EA will also be carrying out a series of workshops across NI and you are welcome to attend one of these events.  A full list of venues, dates and times for local youth group workshops are available via the link above.

Please confirm your attendance at a consultation event by registering online at www.eayouth.eventbrite.co.uk or you can email youthconsultation@eani.org.uk.

If you do not have access to email please telephone Erena Turner on 02890 566216 and provide the name of the unit and numbers of representatives attending. This will allow EA to identify approximate numbers for the events.

Following consultation and approval by the EA Board and presentation to DE, a summary report of responses to the consultation and the agreed new Funding Scheme for regional and local voluntary youth organisations will be made available to the public on the EA website www.eani.org.uk .
