O Holy Night

What’s your favourite Christmas carol?  Which one do you find yourself singing and humming along with all the time?  Mine is ‘O Holy Night’.

I especially love the lines :

“A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new glorious morn
Fall on your knees
O hear the angels' voices”

Read them and take a moment just to think, how amazing and glorious the night when Jesus was born.  Angels sang in joy and the world received their King and Saviour.

So often, when singing songs of praise we don’t always take the time to listen and I mean REALLY listen and meaningfully say the words.  When we sing we offer praise to our God and King; a God whose goodness and love cannot be measured and who deserves our ending praise and worship.

Over the next few days, as we all prepare for Christmas can I encourage you to listen and to really mean the words you are singing; to sing as a prayer of thanks and adoration.

I pray you all enjoy a restful Christmas break as we celebrate Jesus’s birth with family and friends and look excitedly towards 2019 as we await the things God has planned for us all.

Happy Christmas!
