Engagement Framework

6th January 2017

The EA is making changes to the annual returns form that it requests from every youth group registered with them. This change will come into effect in their 2017 annual returns.

They will now be including a section titled Engagement Framework, where they seek to collect, in a standardised format, information on the initial impact of the work each group undertakes with children and young people. They see it as an opportunity to reflect on, recognise and celebrate the level and range of children's and young people's engagement. It is designed to complement rather than add to your existing self-evaluation, planning and quality assurance processes.

The new annual return form will now include the below, and each child/young person within your group must be allocated to one of the four categories:
Contact Engagement
Active participation
Maximising potential

Full details of this change have been emailed to GB Company Captains and Correspondents, as the document is too lengthy to detail here. It is important that you receive this information so please contact Martha at GBHQ: training@gbni.co.uk if you do not receive this email. Many thanks.
